Beautiful pieces by talented artists!

On November 16th, our NW center held its second Crochet Class Showcase. The event highlighted some amazing crochet creations!
Every Monday at 11:00am, interested clients gather to explore and share their crochet creativity among one another. The crochet class began in July 2015 and has since been a huge hit at the NW center.
As clients waited in line for the food pantry, they were able to stop by and check out the colorful crochet displays. Staff were also on hand to oohhh and aahhh over the pieces that ranged from the tiniest newborn hat to a full, wearable dress.
The proud creators of such crochet masterpieces, while basking in the spotlight of those awed by their skills, emphasized that crocheting uses only one needle to stitch. Many in attendance found that to be pretty impressive! One of the instructors of the class also stated that it takes only about two hours to make a adult-sized hat.
“I’ve been crocheting for many years and I like attending the class because new members are always joining and I enjoy teaching them how to crochet”, one excited client said.
Another client, Ms. Maria, was proud to show off her colorful hat, scarf, and gloves during the showcase. She mentioned that each item took her about a day to make. Talk about speed and commitment!
With this showcase, the fall 2015 crochet class has come to end, and with that, each member was given a certificate of achievement to highlight all the hard work they’ve done during the class.
Congratulations to all the talented artists!
