Bread for the City believes that collaboration is how change happens. We are a compassionate, forward thinking, data-driven, and growing nonprofit with deep roots (45+ years) serving Washington, DC residents living on low-income.
Our Corporate Partnerships Program is a unique opportunity to work with us and our community towards a better DC: a city where everyone has their basic needs met, where racial equity and justice are realized, and neighborhoods have real power to build prosperity and enact change. Our Corporate Partners are committed to working in DC; envisioning a better world; and building a sustainable partnership with a community-based organization.
As a Bread for the City Corporate Partner, you will engage with our work and community through a variety of opportunities.
To join us as a Corporate Partner today and to learn more about this unique program, contact Bread for the City’s Institutional Giving Team using the form below:
Bread for the City runs on volunteers. Your team will have access to exclusive volunteer day events (like MLK Day and September 11th’s National Day of Service & Remembrance). Corporate Partners will also be eligible for priority volunteering with special opportunities like our farmers markets and major events.
Bread for the City’s leadership are subject matter experts on DC: the history of the city; the landscape of affordable housing, gentrification, and racial equity; holistic healthcare; and how food insecurity impacts our residents. Join our CEO, Board members, and/or staff leaders to learn about the issues facing our community from the comfort of your office or home by participating in brown-bag lunches on topics that impact all of us.
Drives deliver incredible support, helping us expand our outreach and maximize impact. Host a fundraising drive for our annual Holiday Helpings program or to supplement a team service day; bring the team together for a “baby shower” in-kind drive for our “breadcrumbs”; or organize a food drive to provide direct access to vital, nutritious groceries provided to thousands of clients and their families every year.
A night of giving and community, our annual gala brings supporters together to raise funding and awareness, and to celebrate Bread for the City. Our Corporate Partners get to see their name in lights on the big night and come together with colleagues and friends to make an impactful contribution towards ending poverty in DC.
The Bread for the City family wants to meet you! We’ll make sure that you get to see where your dollars are going when you visit and tour our centers, join our special events, toast accomplishments with our staff, or by participating in an on-site event where you can get to work volunteering with our program teams.
A DC tradition of over 25 years, Holiday Helpings is one of Bread for the City’s most popular programs. For our Corporate Partners, it’s a meaningful way to celebrate the holiday season with drives and volunteering. Throughout November and December, we distribute monetary assistance in the form of debit cards and grocery bags with holiday fixings (turkey or ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes, etc.) to thousands of neighbors and their families. In 2021, we provided over 11,000 families with $75 debit cards -- flexible support that can best assist each family’s unique needs. The cash assistance and traditional staples help to ensure that all DC neighbors can celebrate the holidays at home with loved ones.
Special events like our gala, Holiday Helpings, ribbon cutting ceremonies, campaign toasts, and more are great ways to meet other Corporate Partners, discuss and collaborate on initiatives for progress, and make new friends.
As part of our mission to create a partnership that delivers community impact and helps tell your corporate story, together we can design a media plan highlighting your great work, partnership accomplishments, and recognition for event sponsorship.
