DC Improv Comedy Club, 1140 Connecticut Ave NW
Holidays? More like LOLidays! Stand up for what’s right — that is, see some great stand-up and know that a percentage of proceeds are going to make things right in this world!
Grassroots Comedy is back at the DC Improv lounge with an incredible lineup of comedians raising funds and awareness to support DMV residents who need it the most! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Bread for the City.
The mission of Bread for the City is to help Washington, DC residents living with low income to develop their power to determine the future of their own communities. They provide food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services to reduce the burden of poverty.
As if that’s not enough already, this show comes with a lineup of some of the best comedians in the Mid-Atlantic! With headliner Tony Woods (Def Comedy Jam), Kasha Patel (Thrillist magazine’s “Best Undiscovered Comedians in the US), Gray West (Champagne and Comedy), Elizabeth Norman (Tig Notaro’s Bentzen Ball), and Grassroots Comedy’s own Chris Blackwood and Dana Fleitman hosting, this show will leave you laughing so hard you may just forget all the sadness in this world (until you’re reminded that you’re at a fundraiser that exists to offset sadness).
