Juneteenth for the City – A Community Celebration!

On Sunday, June 19, 2022, the Bread for the City community is gathering together to celebrate Juneteenth with an event that is free and open to the public.

The afternoon is organized by Bread for the City client leaders and founders of Mema’s Popups, a small, local, women and Black-owned business that organizes pop-up events for local Black-owned businesses and artisans. The afternoon will include music from local artists, food and drink from local vendors, shopping from area artists and retailers, and fun activities for the whole family. Bread for the City will also distribute fresh produce and clothing at the event.

Bread for the City is closed Monday, October 10, for Indigenous Peoples Day.

We acknowledge that we are on the occupied land of Anacostan and Piscataway people who have been impacted by centuries of the same structural oppressions that Bread for the City is working to eradicate.
