Since announcing its HQ2 location, Amazon also has donated more than $19 million to community organizations across the Washington, D.C., area. Most recently, Amazon gave $3 million across four legal service agencies to support families and individuals facing eviction issues due to challenges stemming from the ongoing pandemic: Legal Services of Northern Virginia, Virginia Poverty Law Center, Bread for the City’s Legal Clinic, and the Legal Aid Society of the District of Columbia.

Those whose appointments are confirmed will be able to get vaccinated at a vaccine access point such as Bread for the City, Community of Hope, Giant, Mary’s Center, Safeway, and Unity Healthcare.

The operation is run out of a Bread for the City location in Southeast Washington, which allowed the network to use space for storage, and is funded by community donations.

“We’ve been really pleased with the results,” said Scott Kratz, director of 11th Street Bridge Park, which has coordinated with Martha’s Table, Bread for the City and the Far Southeast Family Strengthening Collaborative to raise $3.6 million so far.

Those who register, then qualify, will be given an appointment at one of the city's access points: Bread for the City, Community of Hope, Giant, Mary’s Center, Safeway or Unity Healthcare.
