George A. Jones

Chief Executive Officer

George A. Jones has served as CEO of Bread for the City since January 2, 1996. As CEO, Jones leads (in conjunction with the Board of Directors) the development and execution of BFC’s long and short term strategies and has final oversight over all administrative, financial, business, and programmatic actions of the organization, and its 100+ staff members.

Rasheedah Al-Mahdi, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Rasheedah Al-Mahdi joins Bread for the City as the Chief Financial Officer, leading the Finance Department. With over 15 years of experience in accounting, including leadership roles in both nonprofit and private sectors, Rasheedah brings a wealth of expertise in financial strategy and management. She is a passionate advocate for financial literacy and entrepreneurship, and also actively serves her community through various organizations.

Toshira Monroe

Chief Operating Officer

Toshira Monroe serves as Chief Operating officer at Bread for the City where she leads the Human Resources, Facilities, and Technology teams with organizational, strategic, and administrative operations. She worked over a decade in the social services non-profit space, serving in multiple capacities as volunteer, board member, manager, and director. Toshira was Deputy Director of My Sister’s Place, a DC domestic violence non-profit, and has a deep passion for trauma informed care and services, economic equity, and social services.

Mahogany Thomas

Chief Program Officer

Mahogany S. Thomas is the Chief Program Officer for Bread for the City. She is committed to working at the intersections of social justice and advocacy for marginalized communities based in Washington, D.C. As a Missouri native and Washingtonian transplant, Mahogany believes in creating more equitable futures through radical hospitality. Her background explores intersectionality and liberation praxis with the goal of human flourishing.

Ashley Domm

Head of Advancement & Chief Development Officer

Ashley Domm serves as Head of Advancement and Chief Development Officer at Bread for the City, where she leads a team of fundraising professionals tasked with coordinating comprehensive fundraising strategies and activities to help ensure the organization can deliver on its mission to support the community in Washington, D.C.

Randi Abramson, M.D.

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Randi Abramson leads Bread for the City’s medical program, providing direction and management of all spheres. She has served as medical director since 1991.

Trazy Collins

Food and Clothing Director

Trazy Collins became the Director of Food and Clothing Programs in December 2020. In her role, Trazy supports the vision and programming of the clothing boutique, the grocery deliveries, the rooftop gardens and the food pantries at both locations. Prior to working with Bread For the City, Trazy was working in NYC doing similar work and enjoys bringing new and creative ideas to emergency food programs.

Su Sie Ju

Legal Director

As Legal Director, Su Sie Ju oversees the legal work and advocacy efforts of 20 attorneys/fellows and 5 paralegals/coordinators.

Jovana Kennedy

Director of Client Engagement & Community Resources

Tracy Knight

Social Services Director

Tracy Knight has led Bread for the City’s Northwest Social Services program since 2002 and has led both centers’ programs since 2025. She is responsible for the overall operations of our Behavioral Health services, Housing Access Program, Representative Payee Program, SOAR SSI application assistance program, MSW student training program, and our NW Center’s generalist social work practice.

Melissa Frazier

Facilities Director

Melissa Frazier is responsible for supervising the operations, of facilities maintenance and operations, repair, and renovation for the organization’s two centers.
