What a night! A celebration of hope.

What a night! Our 2018 Building on Good Hope Gala was truly one for the books. We had a blast celebrating our new Southeast Center, bidding on awesome auction packages, dancing to the Brass Connection Band, and of course, raising money to support our poverty relief services and advocacy programs.

To all of you who joined us on April 28th, we are so grateful for your generosity (and impressed by your dance moves!) Because of you, we raised $1,275,124 in support of our mission, a record for Bread for the City. WOW! We are humbled and moved. Thank you.

If you missed the big night, you can still support Bread for the City’s mission and growth here. And be sure to check out pictures from the gala on our Flickr page!

Finally, I’d like to offer a big thank you to our clients for their inspiration, resilience, and determination. Our gala brings together the whole Bread for the City family, but ultimately we are here because we are committed to fighting poverty alongside those who are most affected by it. We couldn’t do it without our entire community.

The race is on—and we need your help! Before our gala wraps up on Saturday, May 10, we're aiming to raise enough to fund one full week of Bread for the City's vital, wraparound services. That means food, healthcare, legal aid, clothing, diapers, and more for thousands of DC neighbors who rely on us each week. Will you chip in to keep this work going strong?
