A Do More 24 Thank You

I always say we have the best donors, volunteers, and staff in the world, and I mean it! Thank you for being part of our community.

We had quite the month. Right after our Good Hope Gala came D.C.’s annual day of giving, Do More 24. What a day! With the help of our supporters, we raised $5,803.80

Plus, that entire amount was matched by a generous donor — for a total of $11,607.60 raised for our Food Program.

So what does it all mean?

The clients we feed come from all walks of life. Seniors making ends meet on a fixed income. Young families looking for nutritious meals for their kids. Those without housing who need emergency food supplies. And sometimes, even furloughed federal workers.

Because of your during Do More 24, we will be able to provide 900 community members with food.

That’s more than 13,000 meals. It’s 13,000 full stomachs for people who would otherwise be experiencing the pangs of hunger. It’s a big deal to give as generously as you all do, and we’re so grateful for the support that consistently allows us to serve the D.C. community.

The day is over but the need, unfortunately, is not. Bread for the City will continue to be here for our community until we reach our goal of breaking the cycle of poverty in this region.
