Bread for the City unveiled its new Black Lives Matter mural

Last week we revealed our new Black Lives Matter mural as we stand in solidarity with the Movement for Black Lives. We thank the talented muralists, Michaye MCilwain, Olivia Mae Junkin, Sean Brewer, and Randi Jones who are all graduates of the Field High School. We will continue to organize community members to help them use their voices and power to undo the systemic racism that perpetuates poverty and oppression in their neighborhoods and their city.

“For nearly a decade, Bread for the City has been a part of the local community’s efforts to push for racial equity in Washington, DC,” says Bread for the City CEO, George A. Jones. “We proudly stand with the national and local Black Lives Matter leadership, who has reignited the Civil Rights Movement and created the kind of progressive activism that we believe could lead to DC being an explicitly anti-racist city.”

The new mural is located at the Northwest Center,  1525 7th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001.
