Bread for the City Provides Moderna Vaccine to Essential Workers

We received 400 doses, the bulk of the doses will be for DC area frontline staff and medical providers who will be referred by the DC Health Department. Many people are scared and don’t feel as if they’re ready to take the vaccine, and that’s perfectly reasonable. Have an open mind and be willing to change your mind once you have all the information.

Dr. Randi Abramson Provides Information on Moderna Vaccine

Bread for the City is excited to be added to the vaccine distribution efforts here in the Nation’s Capital. We are expecting 400 doses for DC area frontline staff and medical providers. We are hoping to give out the vaccines before the end of January. As soon as we have given out the first 400 doses we are excited to receive the next shipment to get the vaccines out to our community. I received the opportunity to speak with Dr. Randi Abramson, Chief Medical Officer, about Bread for the City’s plan to distribute the Moderna vaccine.

Bread for the City distributes the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine

Bread for the City is excited to be one of the nonprofit organizations that will be distributing the Moderna vaccine in the Nation’s Capital. The Moderna, NIAID vaccine is a COVID-19 vaccine authorized by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) for use in the US for a limited population. We are expecting to receive 400 doses, 10 percent of which will be for Bread for the City’s frontline staff and medical providers. The bulk of the doses will be for DC area frontline staff and medical providers who will be referred by the DC Health Department.
