We've partnered with DC Snap-Ed to bring you a virtual, yet interactive cooking class.

A Taste of African Heritage (ATOAH) is a 6-week cooking and nutrition curriculum from Oldways based on healthy plant-based foods from across the African Diaspora. Each class is includes an historical and nutritional discussion and a cooking demonstration. Classes will focus on traditional Herbs and Spices, Greens, Whole Grains, Beans and Rice, Tubers and Stews and Fruits and Vegetables. 

Join us at Bread for the City to watch and learn together. Whether you will watch with us or on your own, please register through the YMCA here.

MLK Holiday Monday Closure & Centers Early Closure Tuesday
Both Bread for the City's Northwest and Southeast locations are CLOSED Monday, January 19, 2026 in honor of MLK Day.   
Both centers will be open on Tuesday, January 29, but will CLOSE at 12:00pm. Regular hours will resume on Wednesday, January 21.
