Bread for the City’s 2020 Presidential Election Statement
November 07, 2020 by BFC in Advocacy Racial Justice
Bread for the City is excited to stand witness to a new start in national leadership and to see a path forward for the progressive policies that most concern low-income communities and people of color. We look forward to partnering with an administration that supports science during this once-in-a-generation global pandemic, which continues to disproportionately impact underserved communities. While we understand there may be more legal challenges to come, with all that 2020 and these last four years have wrought for our community, today is a day of celebration. Tomorrow, we will continue the work at hand as Bread for the City will always be here to support and lift up the needs of our community and understands that the system of white supremacy in our country will not go away with one election. We would like to thank organizers and advocates across America who brought us this day, and especially highlight the work of the many unsung Black women whose tireless efforts contributed to this hour.
