For 12 years, BFC has had the honor of calling WilmerHale a partner, and a friend for even longer! In good times and bad, they have stood by our side: as a financial partner, volunteering with our teams, helping us deliver resources to the community, and raising funding for our programs — and their pandemic response is no different!
To say WilmerHale’s commitment to community service extends far and wide is an understatement. The international, leading law firm in technology, government and business, carries their core belief and passion for public service throughout their thirteen offices in the United States, Europe and Asia: engaging in pro bono work, encouraging academic and personal development for middle school students with mock trials and weekly enrichment programs, hosting food and clothing drives, volunteering in the community, and more!
Since 1996, Bread for the City has collaborated with their Washington, DC team and we’re grateful for every opportunity. They have been a part of our Holiday Helpings campaign success for many years, volunteering to pack grocery bags for our clients with team members coming together through fundraising drives to sponsor thousands of holiday meals. They have hosted office drives; supplied our client families with diapers, wipes, bibs and child care items; collected clothing donations for men, women and children; and assisted us in hosting free community farmers markets.
Their willingness to serve and support the community knows no bounds. When the pandemic touched down in the region, our friends immediately jumped into action with us, and the entire DC office came together through a fundraising drive to help us supply critical food and services to neighbors and families living with low incomes who were experiencing the increased burden of the pandemic. Their collective fundraising drive, currently at $32,686, helps us provide emergency food, COVID-19 testing and medical care, social services, and legal support during the public health crisis.
Through their generous annual giving, pro bono support, fundraising and in-kind drives, volunteering and advocacy, they have and continue to make an incredible impact in their community through dedicated partnership engagement and an incredible giving spirit by team members.
Thank you to our friends for your decades-long support and advocacy on behalf of our mission. We are so grateful for your commitment to human rights, resource accessibility, and giving back. It has been an amazing journey with you, and we look forward to working together to help DC recover from this pandemic, and to all the change we can affect through our partnership in the years to come.
