Yesterday was quite a day! Not only did we symbolically break ground on a brand new service center in Southeast DC, but you helped make this project possible: we raised $20,849.80 for this project through our Do More 24 campaign!
While that’s not all of the way to our goal, we’re still so pleased. We have never had so many individuals give to a Do More 24 campaign — 168 people contributed! And since every donation was matched, that’s $41,699.60 we raised together to build the foundation of our new Southeast Center.
That represents $41,699.60 worth of healthcare for DC families living in the under-served southeast and northeast neighborhoods. $41,699.60 in healthy groceries that will be picked out by our clients themselves in our grocery-store style pantry. $41,699.60 in eviction prevention and job readiness training that will help people stay housed and stable. All under one (brand-new) roof and all because of supporters like you.
Truly, yesterday was one of the most important and impactful days in Bread for the City’s history, and you are now part of our new chapter. We thank you so much for your generosity towards us and towards your neighbors in Southeast DC that we will lift up — together.
If you missed us yesterday but would still like to contribute to the project or learn more, we’d love to hear from you! Check us out at https://breadforthecity.org/goodhope/.
