For over 30 years Holiday Helpings has given families and individuals the food to celebrate with their loved ones. It has always supported low-income residents in our communities who don’t have the resources to provide a holiday meal for their families.
What does Holiday Helpings mean to our clients? At Bread for the City, it is the opportunity to reduce the burden of poverty for our neighbors and help families maintain traditions, celebrations, and stability. For our clients, it can be a channel to critical resources.
It’s the last Holiday Helpings of the decade, we’ve got an ambitious goal (yes, even bigger than last year), and we need YOUR help!
The 2018 Holiday Helpings campaign may have concluded, but we are still blown away by our community’s incredible fundraising energy and generosity that made this year our most successful Holiday Helpings campaign yet!

We have one holiday left in our Holiday Helpings campaign. Will you help us reach another 2,300 families by the end of the year?
Our chairman, Paul Taskier on why Holiday Helpings is a special time of year: "While it is holy work to provide food to those who do not have it, it is all that much more special and meaningful to allow others to experience the holiday as we all do, to allow them to forget the daily burdens and celebrate their family togetherness."
We're halfway there! Thanks to the generosity of our supporters and fundraisers, we're on track to feed 9,000 D.C. families this holiday season. Help us reach our goal!
It's the busiest time of the year for us and we need your help to feed 9,000 DC families over the holidays.
